Before Starting Journey
Abu Dawud 2602
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَى وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَى
Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal-birra wat-taqwa wa minal-'amali ma tarda
English Translation
O Allah, we ask You in this journey of ours for righteousness, piety, and such deeds as are pleasing to You.
Setting Pure Intentions
This dua is recited before beginning any journey, asking Allah to bless the travel with righteousness and good deeds. It sets the intention for a journey that pleases Allah.
Hindi Translation
हे अल्लाह, हम तुझसे इस सफ़र में नेकी, तक़वा और ऐसे अमल की दुआ करते हैं जिससे तू राज़ी हो।
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ، ہم تجھ سے اس سفر میں نیکی، تقویٰ اور ایسے عمل کی دعا کرتے ہیں جس سے تو راضی ہو۔
When Mounting Vehicle
Quran 43:13-14
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَى رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ
Subhanal-ladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun
English Translation
Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return.
Acknowledging Allah's Power
This Quranic verse is recited when boarding any means of transport. It acknowledges that Allah has made these vehicles subservient to us, and reminds us of our ultimate return to Him.
Hindi Translation
पाक है वह जिसने इसे हमारे लिए मुसख्खर कर दिया, हम इसे क़ाबू में नहीं कर सकते थे। और हम अपने रब की तरफ़ लौटने वाले हैं।
Urdu Translation
پاک ہے وہ جس نے اسے ہمارے لیے مسخر کر دیا، ہم اسے قابو میں نہیں کر سکتے تھے۔ اور ہم اپنے رب کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں۔
For Safe Journey
Tirmidhi 3446
اللَّهُمَّ اطْوِ لَنَا الْأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ
Allahumma atwi lanal-arda wa hawwin 'alaynas-safar
English Translation
O Allah, shorten the distance for us and make the journey easy for us.
Seeking Ease in Travel
This beautiful dua asks Allah to make the journey swift and comfortable. It's a request for Allah's blessing to remove difficulties and hardships from our path.
Hindi Translation
हे अल्लाह, हमारे लिए ज़मीन को लपेट दे और हमारे लिए सफ़र को आसान कर दे।
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ، ہمارے لیے زمین کو لپیٹ دے اور ہمارے لیے سفر کو آسان کر دے۔
During Hardship in Journey
Sahih Muslim 2722
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safar wa ka'abatil-manzar wa su'il-munqalab fil-mal wal-ahl
English Translation
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from having a change of heart or being in a bad predicament, and from an ill fate with wealth and family.
Protection from Travel Difficulties
This comprehensive dua seeks Allah's protection from all types of hardships that may occur during travel - physical difficulties, emotional distress, and problems with family or wealth.
Hindi Translation
हे अल्लाह, मैं तुझसे सफ़र की मुश्किलों, बुरे मंज़र और माल व अहल में बुरी वापसी से पनाह मांगता हूं।
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ، میں تجھ سے سفر کی مشکلات، برے منظر اور مال و اہل میں بری واپسی سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔
When Entering a New Place
Sahih Muslim 2708
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَظْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَقْلَلْنَ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ وَخَيْرَ أَهْلِهَا
Allahumma rabbas-samawatis-sab'i wa ma azlalna wa rabbal-aradinas-sab'i wa ma aqlalna as'aluka khayra hadhihil-qaryati wa khayra ahliha
English Translation
O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and what they shade, and Lord of the seven earths and what they carry, I ask You for the good of this town and the good of its people.
Seeking Good in New Places
This dua is recited when entering a new city or place. It asks Allah, the Lord of all creation, to grant us the goodness of the place and its people while seeking protection from any harm.
Hindi Translation
हे अल्लाह, सात आसमानों के रब और जो कुछ उनके नीचे है, और सात ज़मीनों के रब और जो कुछ उन पर है, मैं तुझसे इस शहर की भलाई और इसके लोगों की भलाई मांगता हूं।
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ، سات آسمانوں کے رب اور جو کچھ ان کے نیچے ہے، اور سات زمینوں کے رب اور جو کچھ ان پر ہے، میں تجھ سے اس شہر کی بھلائی اور اس کے لوگوں کی بھلائی مانگتا ہوں۔
For Returning Home
Sahih Bukhari 3085
آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ
Ayibuna ta'ibuna 'abiduna li-rabbina hamidun
English Translation
We return, repent, worship and praise our Lord.

हम लौटने वाले, तौबा करने वाले, इबादत करने वाले और अपने रब की हम्द करने वाले हैं।

ہم لوٹنے والے، توبہ کرنے والے، عبادت کرنے والے اور اپنے رب کی حمد کرنے والے ہیں۔
For Good Companions & Provisions
Tirmidhi 3444
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ اللَّهُمَّ اصْحَبْنَا فِي سَفَرِنَا وَاخْلُفْنَا فِي أَهْلِنَا
Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safar wal-khalifatu fil-ahl, Allahumma ishhabna fi safarina wakhlufna fi ahlina
English Translation
O Allah, You are the Companion in the journey and the Guardian of the family. O Allah, accompany us in our journey and take care of our family.
Allah as Our Companion
This profound dua recognizes Allah as our true companion during travel and the protector of our family back home. It seeks His companionship on the journey and His guardianship over our loved ones.
Hindi Translation
हे अल्लाह, तू सफ़र में साथी है और घर में खलीफ़ा है। हे अल्लाह, हमारे सफ़र में हमारे साथ रह और हमारे घर वालों की हिफ़ाज़त कर।
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ، تو سفر میں ساتھی ہے اور گھر میں خلیفہ ہے۔ اے اللہ، ہمارے سفر میں ہمارے ساتھ رہ اور ہمارے گھر والوں کی حفاظت کر۔
